We offer free tuition for first time snorkellers. LOCATION* Bait Reef is located on the Outer Barrier Reef, 65 kilometres NNE of Airlie Beach in the Whitsundays, North Queensland. Approximately 2,000 acres in size, Bait Reef is a special management area (SMA) zoned Marine Park “A” by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority. Reef walking, collecting, anchoring and fishing is prohibited, thus retaining the natural beauty of this marine wilderness. Bait Reef includes the world renowned “Stepping Stones” enabling multiple dive sites, depending on weather conditions. The map shows just a few of the moorings.
